Baku City


 The 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship is a Formula One car racing event that is the 73rd race at the Formula One World Championships. The championship consists of twenty-two Grand Prix worldwide.

Drivers and teams compete for the title of World Driver Champion and World Builder Champion respectively. Max Verstappen, who drives for Bull Racing, is the current racing champion and Mercedes is the current builder champion.

The sixth edition of the Formula One Championship was held in Baku, Azerbaijan on June 4-6.

Baku City Circuit

The first Grand Prix in Baku was held in 2016, as the European Grand Prix. That was followed by the inaugural Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2017, which witnessed one of the biggest upsets of the season, with Daniel Ricciardo winning out from Valtteri Bottas and the Williams of Lance Stroll, while Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel engaged in some argy-bargy behind the Safety Car.

          Race Day

Red Bull's Max Verstappen dominated the latter stages of the 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix to take the race win and extend his world championship lead as Ferrari pair Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz both suffered engine problems and had to retire in Baku.

Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez eventually finished second after originally taking the lead from Leclerc on the opening lap of the race, whilst Mercedes' George Russell took the last spot on the podium after finishing P3. 

Lewis Hamilton finished in P4 after battling through the pain barrier caused by his porpoising car with AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly finishing in a season-best result of fifth.

Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, and Esteban Ocon rounded out the top 10 to all score crucial points.

 Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating - Riga, Latvia The 2022–23 ISU Junior Grand Prix is the 25th season of a series of international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Competitors will compete for medals as well as qualifying points in the men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance events. The top six in each event qualify for the 2022–23 Junior Grand Prix Final. Based on the results of the 2022 World Junior Championships, each ISU member country was allowed to field a fixed number of competitors per event.
