2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s world cup

The 2022 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Championship was held in Costa Rica from August 10 to 28. This tournament was held for the 10th time.

It is contested under the biennial International Women's Youth Football Championship. The FIFA U-19 Women's World Cup was launched in 2002 with 20 national teams from FIFA's member associations. The age limit was raised from 19 to 20 in 2008.

This was the second time Costa Rica hosted a FIFA tournament after the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

 Japan won the tournament in 2018. The opening match of the tournament was between Costa Rica and Australia.

In the final, Spain defeated Japan 3-1 and won the title. The final match was very intense.
